We don’t use the word “sustainable” lightly. At Mountain Villa, it’s not a marketing angle — it’s the operating system.
The property runs entirely off-grid. Solar panels and a wind turbine generate all our power. Water is sourced from mountain springs. Our kitchen garden grows over 20 varieties of vegetables across seasons, and what we can’t grow ourselves comes from nearby farms. Single-use plastic has been eliminated entirely — from water bottles to packaging.
We employ locally, source locally, and build locally. The economic impact stays in the community, and the environmental footprint stays as small as we can make it.
We also believe in quiet. Limited mobile signal isn’t a bug — it’s a feature. This is a place to disconnect, not to scroll from a prettier location.

Mountain Villa is a family project at its core. Sunitha, who spent over two decades in HR consulting, is the driving force behind the retreat. Her eye for detail, her commitment to doing things the right way, and her genuine warmth set the tone for every guest experience.
But Mountain Villa runs because of its team — all local to the region, all deeply connected to this land.
Chef Anoop now leads the kitchen, carrying forward the tradition of fresh, seasonal Kerala cooking that has always defined meals here. He walks the garden each morning, picks what's ripe, and lets that decide the day's menu. Abel manages the property with quiet efficiency and a personal touch that guests remember long after they leave. Vijayan, Syam, Madasamy, Sanu and Emmanuel are the backbone of daily operations — maintaining the grounds, looking after the cottages, and making sure every stay feels cared for.
No one here is performing hospitality. This is home for them, and it shows.
