Finding Us
Set your GPS to Mitraniketan, Vazhikkadavu, Vagamon or Kurushumala Ashram, Vagamon. The final stretch includes a short off-road drive — we’ll pick you up in our 4x4 from the meeting point. This transfer is complimentary for all guests.
Airport: Cochin International Airport (3.5–4 hours by road)
Railway: Kottayam Railway Station (2.5 hours by road)
Bus: Frequent services from Kottayam or Ernakulam via Pala and Erattupetta
Before you visit
Is there mobile signal?
Limited. Most networks get intermittent coverage, most guests tell us this was the best part of their stay. There is Wi-Fi as we have pulled the cables for around 2.5 kms & hence WhatsApp works. However being a mountain terrain, connectivity cannot be guaranteed
What should I pack?
Comfortable walking shoes, layers for cool evenings (it drops to 15–18°C at night), a torch/flashlight, and a book. Leave the laptop.
Can you arrange airport or railway transfers?
Yes. We can help arrange a car from Cochin Airport or Kottayam Railway Station. Please let us know your travel details at the time of booking.
Is the property suitable for children?
Absolutely. Families love it here. The Woodhouse Cottage with its attic lofts is especially popular with kids. The property is safe to explore, though the terrain is natural and uneven in places.
Are meals included?
Breakfast is included with every stay. Lunch and dinner are available at The Refectory on a set-menu basis. Please let us know about dietary requirements in advance.
What’s the best time to visit?
Vagamon is beautiful year-round. October to March offers the clearest skies. The monsoon months (June–September) bring dramatic clouds and lush greenery but heavier rainfall. April and May are warm but still comfortable at 3,000 ft.
