Designed as an off-grid retreat, it’s a place for those who value quiet mornings, open views, and time away from constant noise. From here, the horizon unfolds into layered hills, distant valleys, and star-filled night skies.

Our Cottages
A small collection of cottages shaped by what once stood on this land. Former working structures have been thoughtfully restored using natural materials, keeping new construction minimal and the landscape largely unchanged.
Stone Cottage
A restored estate labour shed with thick stone walls and calm interiors. Located close to the common areas, it suits families or couples who enjoy being at the heart of the property.
Planters Cottage
Once part of the estate’s labour quarters, now a private retreat set away from shared spaces. Simple interiors, a deep bathtub, and a private outdoor cabana tucked into the greenery.
Planters Annexe
A former cowshed reimagined as a small, minimalist cottage. Quiet, private, and ideal for solo travellers or couples seeking seclusion and forest views.
Woodhouse Cottage
Our only newly built wooden structure, designed as twin cabins with attic lofts. Open lawn and valley views make it a good fit for families or friends staying together.

What a Stay Looks Like
Experiences here are shaped by the landscape — simple, slow, and close to nature.
Walk through five acres of forest trails that start right at your cottage door. Sit by a bonfire under skies so clear you can trace the Milky Way. Wake up to birdsong from species like the Malabar Grey Hornbill and the Asian Paradise Flycatcher. Or do nothing at all — that’s equally welcome here.
For those who want to explore beyond the property, Vagamon offers paragliding over the valley, off-road jeep trails through tea country, and treks to places like Uluppooni and the pine forests.
At The Refectory
Meals follow a steady, thoughtful rhythm. A set menu guides the kitchen, with dishes prepared fresh each day using produce from our garden and nearby farms. The food is simple and home-style, reflecting local Kerala traditions rather than elaborate dining.
Chef Anoop picks what’s ripe each morning, and that decides the menu. Expect Kerala staples — appam, puttu, stew, Egg roast, kadala curry, seasonal vegetables — cooked the way they’ve been cooked here for generations.

Getting here
Set your GPS to Mitraniketan, Vazhikkadavu, Vagamon or Kurushumala Ashram, Vagamon.
The final stretch to Mountain Villa includes a short off-road drive.
All guests are picked up from the Mitraniketan / Kurushumala Ashram area and brought to the property in our 4x4 vehicle. This one-time transfer is complimentary, and secure parking is available nearby for those arriving by their own vehicle.
